Garlic that has undergone the required cold treatment to be planted in the spring. Did you miss planting your garlic last fall? It can be planted in the spring. The yield will be slightly lower, but you’ll still get garlic. Timing: Plant as soon as the soil can be worked, starting in late March. Soil: Rich and well-drained. Full sun. Planting: Separate the bulb into cloves and plant them (pointed end up). Spacing: 15–25 cm between cloves, at a depth of 5–10 cm. 30 cm between rows. Cover with straw if available. Care: Fertilize as needed (e.g., chicken manure). Water once a week and remove weeds. Cut the garlic scape when it begins its second curl to encourage bulb development. Harvest: When 50–70% of the leaves have died back (around late August). Harvest the bulbs, tie them together, and hang them to dry in a well-ventilated area for a few weeks.
